The name of the person who had rabies is Edgar Allan Poe. The date this happenedSeptember 26,1896. People say that Edgar Allan Poe Died rabies encephalitis but this is still not a fact.
They think that Edgar died of this desease because in the past 20 years there has been 33 cases reported of human rabies.But some people dont remember getting biten by any kind of animals. rabies can be transmited trhough animals such as bats and cats and more. Bats are the most common rabies transmiters.
They aren't really sure of what was the disease did Edgar Allan Poe died of. They don't know tjis because rabies is really hard to detect. Only 7 patients remember having any contact with any kind of bats.There was no vaccine for rabies at this time. They also think that he might have got the rabies from his own cat. and all of this is a theory not a fact.
