Alejandra Rosales/Final exam/main idea

The main idea in this story was about a lady named Della and her husband Jim. It was the day before christmas and all Della had was one dollar and seven cents to buy her husband a present. She didn't know how she was going to get the money to buy Jim a chain the Jim always wanted for his watch. But hen thats when she thought of selling her hair since she had long very nice hair. So she decides to go to a place called "Mme.sofronie Hair goods all kinds" and asked hoe much would they give her for her hair and they offered her twenty dollars for it. So she decided to do it. After she was done she went back to her house to surorise Jim with the cain and her new haircut. The whole time she was waiting she was hoping that Jim would still love her like that. So it came to the time where he came home, once he opende the door he had became speehless,he didn't say a word. But the reason for that was because it's not that he did't like it it was that he had just bought her a new set of combs that she had always wanted. So finally, she surprised him with the chain.They gave eachothere their presents but decided to put them away and not use them at that time. So i guess the main idea was that people will do carzy things to make eacothere happy and show the love they have for that person.
